I own a 2002 wrx. The other day I was on my way home when the engine cut out. It made no noise whatsoever out of the ordinary before the engine cut off. I pulled off the road and attempted to start the car but it wouldn't start. I had it towed to my house. I checked fuel flow and fuel flow was good. The check engine light had come on shortly before the engine cut off so I checked to see what code it would throw but it showed no codes. I figured then that the timing belt was probably blown, which is a nightmare, but from what I know, the engine should be turning over fast and smooth with a blown timing belt whereas my car is turning over slower than normal. Any ideas what it could be before I go pulling off the rocker cover? It has 131,000 miles. The only aftermarket parts are arm cold air intake and hks blowoff valve.
