Would a tuner be able to do anything about this?

Depends on the tuner and their resources. Many experienced tuners are also expert trouble shooters because you have to get everything working just right before you can tune it right.

No. Take the car somewhere else. It's obvious there is either an ECU issue or an issue with the wiring for the MAF.

The entire harness was replaced which cost $2200 so there better not be a problem with the wires...

I just didn't know if there were any tuning alternatives that would either adjust or remove the MAF from the equation.

Yes there are tuning options that get rid of the maf (speed density) but I don't know enough about them to give you advice. And if it happens to be something else then thats a good chunk of money for no fix

I suppose as long as everything else is good and it's just a MAF issue you could get a MAP based tune on a Group-N rom.. but I would prefer to know what's going wrong first.

I would like to know where to get that map, worth a test

Damn I can't find one anywhere. Just wanna flash it on and take a drive to see if it runs any better.

The Group-N ROM does not work on 32 bit ECU's.

Ahh, yea.. I wasn't even thinking about it being a 32-bit ECU.
