He is suggesting you read that thread. We don't know what kind of car you have, if your tuned, what bov and intake etc. This issue could be everything from the fact that your running a BOV (get rid of that and get a stock replacement), not being tuned, a boost leak, a bad injector, a bad turbo, a bad motor, a bad boost controller, vacuum leak, etc etc. Bottom line, we need more info

How long has this been a problem?

You mentioned modifications. Did the 8PSI issue happen after installing one of the modifications?

    Are there any CELs?

What have you troubleshooted so far? 8PSI is around wastegate pressure; have you tested your BCS to make sure it's operating properly.

    Help us help you...

The problem has been there since i got the car. I was told that my BOV could be the problem I have the BOV type s! But i took off my intercooler thinkin i had a boost leak and checked all the lines and everything was fine. I just didnt know how common this was.

Ok, I have a 2002 wrx with 82000miles on it. I bought it about a month ago and the cel came on. So my friend who is mechanic said it was the exhaust temperature sensor. Here the honeycomb from the cat was all throughout my up pipe. I ended up getting a sti up pipe from a 04 but doesnt have the sensor hole so still my cel light is on. Im not really worried about the cel light at the moment but more of the fact that im only running 8psi instead of around 13 which i think is stock. My aftermarket parts are injen cold air, injen exhaust, bov type s?, and that up pipe.

First and foremost, if you're getting the EGT CEL, you need to perform the 2.2KOhm 1/2 watt resistor fix: 2.2K Ohm Resistor Mod

Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and draining the remaining power, then reassess. If you are still peaking at 8 PSI (roughly mechanical boost) you could have other issues. It's also possible the ECU was pulling boost because of the EGT readings.
