I bought a special set of pet cage bars to keep the pups in the back hatch, it hooks up to the rear headrest. But some idiot designer forgot to cut extra lines in the headrest bars, so you either have to have the headrest completely off, or completely lowered and on...WTF!?!?!?!

I wonder if I can get a machine shop to carve more grooves in the headset bars? Its either that, or I see the center headrest does have a stopper, I might be able to cut the pet bars mount to fit between the left and right headrest and just mount it on the center headrest.

Ok, a little cutting and things are working. Not bad, might trim the bars a little more, but looks good!

I was under the impression the headrests were supposed to be out...

It was supposed to mount on the bars of the left and right Headrest, but if you lift those they only slide out, not adjust. The center headrest will adjust to one notch, so I cut that black bar on my pet bar down to fit between the left and right headrest.

Ugh. I just tried to order that and they won't sell one because apparently they can't ship it within the next 30 days. Frustrating.
I'm interested in the dog barrier setup you have in your 2011 WRX hatch. What did you have to cut? Was it difficult to do so? How stable is it since it's just connected to the center headrest? Does it sway back and forth in the rear? It's ONLY connected to the center headrest right? Like, it's not wedged against the headliner or the sides of the car? Thank you VERY much...
UPDATE: I might be the only one that cares about this... but in case other folks are looking for a solid dog barrier that works with our cars, this one does work out of the box without modification. I did have to take off the top horizontal bar and mount to the center headrest like lordgrinz did. However, I didn't cut the bottom cross bar where it hit's the outside headrests... it JUST squeezes in there with a little bit of force. If I have the time I'll probably look at cutting that bottom crossbar but for now it works out of the box. Cheers all!
