    Mystery boost leak.

So, the other day I was headed home from work and I started to get the sound of boost leaking from under the hood on the driver's side. While I don't have a boost gauge it is obvious to me that it is boost since it only happens when the turbo would be spooling up. There is a relatively small but noticeable decline in performance as well. I have taken it to the dealership, which they went over it and told me everything was tight. They couldn't fix or find the problem but told me they would be contacting Subaru tech support and then me.

I just was hoping to get some thoughts from the folks around here that are probably more experienced with these cars than even their Subaru factory guys.

Search "boost leak test". It will require you to maker an adaptor. And I highly suggest getting a boost/vac gauge.

Thank you. I did make the tester and gave it to the dealership to use as the car is still under warranty and I don't want any excuses to deny a claim. They found the leak this time and I wanted to post the results to help anyone else who might have the problem. They did find a loose hose, they told me it ran from near the intercooler to the throttle body.
