    Plastic Clips, not serious but....

    Hi,

I love my 2010 Subaru WRX sedan One small problem is the driver side front wheel well has 2 plastic push clips at the front of the wheel well. These clips keep breaking and then the plastic under the driver side valance starts to sag I have had the dealer attempt to fix the problem twice but it has happened again I know this isn't exactly serous but I would like to fix the issue permanently. The first time the dealer said they probably put in the wrong clips (they are primarily a Toyota dealer and thought they might of put Toyota clips in LOL) so they ordered the correct ones the second time and few days latter the bigger clip is loose again. It looks like the outer piece is sheered off and you can easily pull it out. Once the bigger clip fails the smaller one is a few days behind it.

The driving conditions are not rough by any means so I am not sure what is causing the friction and the plastic clip failure. The Passenger side looks good. Any ideas on what I can try to fix the problem? I am not opposed to fixing the problem myself if the price is reasonable.

Thanks in advance for any advice

If I were you, I'd go to a subaru dealership. You're under a subaru warranty, and they should be able to remedy the situation.

Did you look on the other side of the car?Are you using the same size clips that are on the other side? There are 4 different types of clips.

If the dealer cannot fix it and you are willing to give up on them, move on to proper captive screws.

Thanks, for all the advice, I think I will give the dealer another shot to fix it.

I think the clips appear to be the right ones but I can't say for sure without taking the other ones out. They did put 2 different sizes in on the drivers side and the smaller one is still in place it is the bigger one that came out.

    Thanks again
