    Rattling/Ringing in shifter

hey everyone. new to the forums and new to owning a WRX.

anyways right to the point. i have a 02 wrx i just purchased not even a week ago. before purchase i took it for a test drive and noticed not problems at all. no noises. the car stayed at the dealers for about a week before i bought it so im sure a few others test drove it. anyways im noticing a ringing or a rattling (like change in a pocket) coming from my stick. and sometimes having a little issue with sliding into 1st gear. wondering if anybody has any clue what my problem might be? the noise becomes louder upon acceleration.
