    In that case, I would go with a simple short block swap. Get your hands on a used EJ205 short block, and take a weekend and swap it in. A hybrid build is possible, but be prepared for additional costs associated with it. The most financially viable solution at this point is probably just a used stock shortblock.

    So I've decided to get a new short block and have the heads rebuilt. Going to change the timing belt and tensioner. Any other ideas? Don't want to blow,another rod anytime soon
