    Boost Leak!!

When at full throttle my car hits its targeted 16psi then slowly drains down to like 8psi or so! Is this due to a boost leak or could it be something else? And if it is a boost leak what are the main vacuum lines and stuff i need to check for holes? Or could it be something else?

Thanks for the help guys, i'm really at a loss for what to do right now!

Its def a boost leak. If you have the factory top mount, check the intercooler hose underneath for any holes and check your inlet tube that connects to your turbocharger for any possible holes or leaks there. Those are the 2 typical spots for boost leaks.

It's not a boost leak if thats how the ecu was tuned. You have not given enough info to even determine if it's a problem. On the stock turbo you going to hit max boost quick and taper down, espcially at high altitudes. Also it generally helps to list your mods and if this is all of a sudden happened or the car has always been like this. Details are key.

It will taper down...2...3 PSI, not 8 PSI (half of what he's making).

With 2 gurus subscribed, I have to ask. Hopefully, this doesn't seem like a hijack, since it is related - I was thinking of replacing my stock BOV with a fully recirculating one. (like this - Forge Recirculation Valve Subaru WRX 2009-2011 / Legacy GT 2005-2009 at RallySportDirect.com) Is there any downside to not venting ANY air to atmosphere?

Recirculate is the way to go. I don't have that year vehicle but I have the Forge BPV runs great.

My expirence has been if it was a boost leak target boost would not be hit and usually will be hitting a certain psi and flattening out,not tapering down that low. But hey, could be wrong. So,your running an OTS map with an external wastegate?

Yes i am, for now! I was wondering if that could be a part of the problem, but it ran fine for the first few months after i installed the wastegate.

It's certainly not ideal. You never stated when this started to happen. Do you know it was running ok or did you assume that it was running ok because it didn't exhibit these symptoms until recently?
