Lost key

Hey, I lost my key to my 07 wrx a few months ago. The dealer is charging me $65 for the key because it has a chip and $70 on top of that to program it to my car. I know you can program the keyless entry remote so I was wondering if I could program the key myself and save $70. If anyone can help me out that would be great.

The chip inside of the key has to be programmed with the special transponder code that came with the car, this is not done through the car itself and is a dealership specific process.
