    License plate lights inop!!

    2003 WRX wagon

Problem: License plate lights are inop (both)
Troubleshooting: Replaced bulbs and checked fuses (just in case)
The outcome: Both lights still inop.

Is there something I'm missing? I'm thinking that the connector at the socket is jacked up. It looks as if you've got to remove the bumper cover to access it though.

    Any suggestion/tips?
    Thanks!

Have you tested the voltage at the sockets?

Sounds like time to trace the wires. If the sockets don't have voltage, and the fuses are fine, then you've probably got a wire that got chaffed through at some point. There's no easy solution short of tracing the wires back and figuring out where they're losing voltage.
