    21 lbs of boost after going to stock BCS?

    Hey guys, Ive been reading around on this forum for a little while now but this is my first time posting, and i have a little problem...

    Ok so about a month ago i bought my first subaru, a 2002 wrx 5 speed with 116k miles. It has a full turbo back exhaust, an aem intake, aem gauges, and i just put on a grimmspeed up pipe yesterday. Today i got a new restrictor pill and hooked the stock boost controller back up (the car had an aem tru boost setup on it when i bought it) and now its hitting between 20 and 21 pounds of boost. (with the tru boost it would hit 15-16)

    Is it possible the stock BCS went bad during the time it was unhooked? I tried hooking the hoses up both ways and it still runs 21 lbs either way. And i made sure to put the restrictor pill in the correct location.

    Any ideas?

    Check all the vacuum lines for cracks or clogs. Check the wastegate actuator arm to make sure it can move. Check the line with the restrictor pill to make sure it is not blocked by something or even by the orientation of the pill itself. Make sure the BCS does not stick in the open position. Also this assumes there is no map loaded on the car, just the stock ECU mapping. I'd suspect something mechanical from the list above.

    I used the same lines that were on the aem solenoid, they are all good, no cracks or tears. Does the direction of the pill make a difference? Everything seemed to work fine with the aem.
