Airbag Module Reset / Code Issue

    Hey guys,

Iv'e got an 03 WRX that has been a pretty great car so far, lots of small mods done to it.

I've got a problem that has been perplexing me however. When I purchased the car the airbag light was on, I check all the airbags are in place and read out as not-blown with the DVOM. Was doing some reading and apparently when the airbags do blow the module can go with it, so pulled the center console and checked the p/n on the module, they keep coming back for a 05 STI.

So I found an 03 Airbag module on ebay and installed it today, pulled the diagnostic connecter from the dash and did the pin read/reset trick, I can get the light to reset but as soon as you turn the key off and back on the light does not go off.

The codes I have are 61 and 62 both are for the side seatbelt pre-tensioners which are reading fine with the DVOM and have not been deployed.

Any help with this is much appreciated, the nearest subaru dealer is 3-4 hrs away and I would like to DIY this one if at all possible.

Have you checked the SRS connectors under the seats? One may have been disconnected for whatever reason.
