which to choose

I just finished installing a bunch of bushings for my control arms, and changing tie rod ends and lateral links. I need an alignment now.

Should I bring it to a dealership, or just any local guy? I also want them to install new engine mounts at the same time.

EDIT: I have an 09, and am in NY. Long Island to be exact.

i would do both of those things at different places. if you want to take full advantage of all the stuff you have just done to your car, you should take it to an alignment shop that specializes in performance vehicles and get a performance alignment done.

the engine mounts can be done pretty much anywhere.

no DIY on the engine mounts?

I would do them myself, but from what I read, it's a really tight fit in there, and i'm not 100% confident as to how to do them.

and have had the car on jacks for 2 weeks already. i miss driving her. lol

i think i found a shop around me that does really good alignments. Going to go with them.

Someone once posted some comment about alignment shops being a learned science which I totally agree with. No dealer...find a good tire/alignment shop or find a local tuning shop and see who they recommend. Just call and ask if they do alignments...when they say no ask if they know of any. Most places have nearby contacts they use for their own cars.

I found a local place that i saw recommended on a different subaru club site. It's called Camber Toe, so that's a good sign.

Have an appointment with them tomorrow.
