    Unhappy Help!!!! Remote Locking Issue

Apologies if this has come up before but I can't find anything that can help me. My remote locking occasionally decides not to work and I have to use the key in the lock instead. However if I then leave the car then come back to it later it will happily unlock using the remote and sometimes it will lock with the remote too. It's definately nothing to do with any doors being open or anything like that, the battery is fine when it does work it works meters away. Im stumped, please help!!!

How do you know the battery is fine? How old is it?

Had the same intermittent problem with mine. I took it to the dealer under warranty and they replaced the key fob. It's been about 2 weeks now, and no issues so far.

That sounds to me like when you use it you're discharging the tiny amount of power in the battery the first time you use it, and then it doesn't work right. That's why it works after you haven't used it for a while. Batteries will build up a charge slowly over time. Drive it a lot, and the charge doesn't have time to build up.

They didn't say anything about it being common or not.

They replaced it for free because I'm still under warranty.

You can open key fobs by sticking a coin in them in one spot and twisting. The battery is available at many different places like auto parts stores or even Walmart. No need to go to the dealer for anything.
