    wiring problem

i just did a engine swap on my 02 wrx. everyting is hooked up. all the wires plugged up. i'm having two problems.

first problem is this when both ports on the battery are plugged up the fans come on and stay on. they turn off when i go to start the car.

second problem is the car won't turn over. it doesn't even try. i'm no expert but this seems backwards. i've been wracking my brain and looking over my wiring setup and still can't find a thing. any help.

Are the diagnostic plugs under the steering column plugged into each other? If so, unplug them.

Because if you plug them together, the car thinks you are going to perform diagnostics. One thing it will do in that case is cycle the fans. Check the plugs and make sure they are not plugged together.

    No. You leave them unplugged.

Someone would have had to do so, probably to run diagnostics. If you have not, then this is not your problem.

Are all the grounds good? I had close to the same problem and it ended up being a ground.
