coolant leak????

[Bblue Rrex]

I popped my hood a while back and saw greenish white splatters around the radiator belts and hoses thought nothing of it and just cleaned my underhood. Now I popped my hood again and saw the same thing. It looks as if there's a tiny leak somewhere and its hitting the blets and fans and spraying it around. My coolant levels are still around full and I'm not leaving behind any puddles under my car....


Any help? I would just like some ideas of what it may be and what to check.

If you can't find where it is leaking from with the car running then you need to get a pressure test. Watch out for the fans etc. You don't want it to all of a sudden get worse and leave you stranded.

If your radiator is stock I bet it cracked. Rev it while you look at the radiator I bet you will find the leak.

Buy a cooling system pressure tester, it's a super valuable tool and will help you find your problem. You can find them fairly inexpensive, I think they even sell them at autozone and pep boys.

Is the radiator cracking a regular problem for the rex's? I'm just had the same problem with my 04. The coolant shows up everywhere on the engine bay and when the fans kick on you can REALLY smell it.

It's a regular problem with any plastic tank radiators, Not really a Subaru specific issue.

Plastic tank radiators? It's the radiator aluminum?
