    02 wrx building wayyy to much boost

    so heres my problem ive had my wrx for about a month now and its always built like 10psi boost and i look at my gauge today and its building 17psi..... someone said that my wastegate is messed up which means a new turbo or bcs valve. obviously im not rippin on it after seeing that. heres my question could be anything else or does everyone agree its the wastegate?

    How many miles are on the vehicle? Is the CEL illuminated? What modifications are done to the vehicle? Does it actually feel like your boosting 17PSI compared to around 10 PSI?

    There's 88k miles only modifications are aem intake and its dropped. Cel is not on. It felt more then 10 but not 17 I suppose it could have been in my head watching the gauge. The vaccume line is still good cause it still reads vacc and boost
