    20 percent drop in mileage

I've got an 02 WRX pretty much stock, overnight the mileage dropped 20 percent. I've put a diagnostic computer on it and it says all is well. The car seems to run fine but is sucking gas faster than normal. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Any recient mods? What are your current mods? When was the last tune up?
Your biggest factor is driving habits, and temp/weather... please give a little more info...

Nothing changed. Last tune up about 10 thou ago, Same driving habits, same BP fuel same everything! Could it be as simple as a stuck injector but it runs and idles the same as always

It could be a number of things... maybe a clogg in the fuel system, clutch going out... how many miles?

There is also a sticky for gas mileage faq too in the forum area... it can give a whole bunch of ideas...

It's got 127,000 on it, the clutch is good meaning it doesn't slip at all.

The best way to check it is to start off really slow to about 25mph, shift it into 3rd and stomp on the gas... if your rpms shoot up then its slipping... if it kinda fumbles and slowly accelerates then its fine... with 127K have you replaced your timing belt? What mods do you have?

Timing belt has been replaced, I did it at 105 thou, the clutch does not slip. It's got a K+N air filter and it's clean.

Is it a cone filter or drop in? Sometimes my rex will dip down to 18mpg and sometimes ill get 23mpg... maybe its just bad gas... do you use 91 or higher?

It's a drop in. I don't think its the gas, my wife gets gas at the same place and her mileage hasn't dropped at all and she drives a forester
