You have to use new gaskets when you do the UP - you can search youtube and listen to UP leaks.
Either that or maybe one of your hoses is not secure between the turbo, intercooler, and or throttle body.

Hello everyone! im new here. can't find my awnser im looking for so i made a post..
So here's the problem, i have a 2002 wrx and before i changed my up pipe i had problems with the boost. On my gauge it usaly (when i first got it) stayed between 0.5 and .-1 towards the middle. Now its at atleast close to 0.5. And when i accelerate i hear this annoying whistle noise ( not the turbo sound) but its in that area. I just changed my up pipe for a performance one and still that sound is there also the boost is not corrected to what it was before the problem. Also going into second gear i feel a loss of power.
What can be the problem?
Thank you.
Dave

I would agree, check all your gaskets near the turbo, and the vacuum lines as well.

Yeah the mechanic putted all the new gaskets around the up pipe, not sure around the turbo i'll check it out!
Regardless, unless he used the dealer's gaskets or a high quality substitute that is where I would start.
Sound like this?

Sort of, but only when i start driving or depending on rpm. The gaskets are new, installed the part at a shop that only tunes subies. I unno i'll check the vaccum's any clue where i can get a diagram?

Pretty much the closest i could get to the sound it makes.
Then they probably didn't get your intercooler hoses back on correctly.
