I feel embarrassed that after a year after having my car tuned, I realized the tuner had launch control enabled as well. When someone isn't moving at a light, I find it slightly less annoying then honking my horn so I rev my engine at them. Most of the time I don't try to go higher than 3k but I guess this time I did and it stopped at 4.3k. I am tempted to try it but I guess I don't have a place to launch my car safely or have a real need to.
So my guess is if it's somewhat bouncing off a limiter at 4.5kish, it's LC. I would assume something worse would happen and it would be more unpredictable if it were a problem with the MAF. Also issues while the clutch was engaged would be present as well.
