    smoking turbo. help plzzzz

Okay so I have miltiple issues really. I have an 02 wrx and I just put a new turbo in, well new to me. Had 22k miles on it. I also just installed a catless up and down pipe on it. Got it all in. Primed it, reflashed it all that.

After letting it run for a few it starts to smoke from where the turbo and dp connect. I'm not sure if its the pb blaster or some coolent that was spilt. That's issue one.

Issue two, now that I've put it all in and reflashed I went for a test drive. Of course I wanted to see what it could do. When I get on it and the turbo kicks in, the acceleration is really kinda slugish then really really jerky. Like its not getting enough fuel. Kinda cuts in and out. Never had this problem while stage 1. My accessport says its peaking at 15.8 which seems right.

Third, it keeps throwing a check engine light. P0031 heater control circut low. Bank 1 sensor 1. I've tried resetting a couple times...no dice.

    Help plzzzzz

sounds like an O2 issue.. do you have a wideband sensor/gauge? or and AFR metering? If so, what's it reading?

If the smoke is coming from the turbo/dp connection area, is it really light? Does it come from the tailpipe/muffler, as well? or only at the dp connection.

if only up front, then I'd guess the penetrating oil and/or grease is burning off.

Is your reflash... correct? Just asking..

I don't have a wideband....when I put the dp back on I used the stock 02 sensor in there. Should I have just put a bolt in it and plugged it? I can take it out and get a af reading off my ap if you want.

    And yes, I refllashed correctly.

I also plugged the egt back in off the up pipe. Again, should I just bolt it?

    is that a sugar glider?

    the EGT is fine.

Wonder if the O2 sensor took a crap, or got whacked by accident, or got something like penetrating oil on it..

when it misses and bucks, or whatever, does the car smoke black out the exhaust?

Just for S&Gs, also check/clean the air meter sensor with appropriate cleaner spray...

Also check the O2 sensor, just before the uppipe. check connectors, etc..

Haha yes its a glider, I have 4, that's my chunky one his name is tator.

Anyway, I disconnected the 02 sensor and egt and it runs like a dream, afr is a constant 14.7. The smoking has stoped, just a little smell now. I let my friend drive it back to my place, about 20 mins, I followed behind. No smoke at all. Couple of backfires from my leak off valve, ill swap back to stock...I just like looks

    Thanks for the help too.
