Loss of power and rattling coming from engine?

I'm on a road trip to Montana from SoCal and I lost power and heard a lot of rattling coming from the engine, especially when I'm at a stop.

is it a rattling or a constant knock? Could be bearings in your turbo.

Check your oil level, is the CEL illuminated? How many miles are on the vehicle? As mentioned, is it more of a knocking sound? Does it do it all the time even when sitting still? Does the sound change with RPM increase/decrease?
