That's within warranty. That's part of your emissions system. Go to your dealership.

The guy at autozone said it could be just a dirty MAF sensor, but I don't know... do you know what it could be and if the factory powertrain warranty cover it?

Guy at autozone works at autozone for a reason...

Those have to do with the air pump that was added early 2006 onto the WRX.

It's the thing in the top right corner of your engine bay that looks like a plastic turbo.

And no... that's not covered under your powertrain warranty. It's covered under the emissions warranty. 8years 80,000miles.

I agree. Emissions warranty, incidentally, is very strong and absolutely should be very strong. This is why emissions components are supported for longer than one might think. Take it to your dealer and have them fix it under the emissions warranty.

Would they deny it for any reason due to my reflash?

I don't have an AP, its an open scource map.... would they really look to see if its been flashed for an emmissions issue?

The problem is... they may try and reflash your car to an updated firmware if there is any. Which would overwrite your current flash.

I highly doubt that they'd deny you warranty on the emissions components from your flash.

More than likely this will be a hardware issue, not software. But if it's software, then they could charge you because of the flash.

I called the dealership and they said that it would be covered under the emissions warranty if it were registered in california, but I'm in utah so they said it wouldn't be covered...
