High idle

    High idle

    my 05' wrx is idling around 2000-2500. not to sure what that means. any advice? I just did an engine swap, the car is stock but the idling thing is now just happening after 2 weeks of driving.

    What I would do is check the throttle cable.. you should be able to tighten and loosen a little nut on it... the tighter the higher the idle.. does it seem to happen more when u just start the car?

    no it stays the same the whole time even with the ac on but i'll check the cable.

    Alright so that's what I would guess...
    Since you did an engine swap, I'm guessing the bracket that is holding the cable to idle is just in slightly different place so it just needs the little.. I guess its just a stopper.. to be loosened til it idles to where you like it

    I would agree on the accel cable as well. By just simply tugging on mine or lifting it up will make it rev.

    well i couldn't find anything wrong with the accel cable.it only starts idling high when the car sits at idle for awhile.

    that's normal. The car gets hot, and then it idles higher when the fans kick in... at least on my DBW car... I don't know about the throttle cable cars if it's able to do that.

    ok it is still doing it. i know that the fans will kick on and the car will idle different, but at 3000 rpms. there are no codes showing up.

    At one time I had a idle air control valve start acting up intermittently and never gave me a cel.
