    Exclamation Electrical issue

    Hi out there,

So I just replaced my engine and everything was bueno until a couple of weeks ago when simultaneously, the radio, trip meter and security system all began having problems. The trip meter will reset now every time I start the car but counts fine while driving. The radio would intermittently go on/off and now has not gone on in a week. The security system will not engage all the time and I thought the battery was just old (not replaced it yet). Once the security system went into valet mode so I reset it to normal it worked once and not really since.

WTF! I really love this car and if I had the $$ I'd like to do some improvements to increase handling and turbo lag but that is it.

    Any thoughts?

Check the main leads to earth for the battery on both ends, the alternator, the motor itself, and the gearbox. It sounds like an intermittent grounding problem, where the car is behaving like there's an open main circuit and resetting etc.
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, 1929
