    Odd Clunkin on Acceleration

Hey gotta 05 WRX at 199,912 miles as of tonight. I have been noticing an odd sound when I start going from a stop. It only really happens if I put some gas down, if I baby the start I usually cannot hear/feel it. It sounds a lot like the passenger side seat clicking into place, but I know it is not that, my passenger would tell me. I cannot feel it on the stick. So I am wondering if it may be clutch or worse differencial. Original clutch is in, but most of the miles were road trips. I hope I have described the problem adaquetly and I would appreciate any input. Thanks

Is it modded? Are you getting any smoke? Are the gears grinding? Is there any loss in aceleration or clutch pressure? What does it sound like exactly?

You need to be a little more specific...

Could be worn diff mount bushings allowing too much travel under high torque loads (such as taking off aggressively in first gear), I'd take a look at them and inspect for need of replacement.

No to all Scooby - I described it the best I could before. it sounds like a half a second of metal sliding followed by it locking into place. The car is moving by this point. It's not like it locks then it goes.

The car is a daily driver really. I don't really start aggressively, but nonetheless; If I were to inspect the bushings would the wear be pretty obvious?

    Thanks for the help
