Twice now I have been to the dealership to have them look at my car. I told them the turbo is making a chirping sound when I accelerate (best way to describe it is a cricket sort of a sound), and that I seem to be losing power when I accelerate. For example: I floor it to get on the highway, hit 60 in 3rd gear, and while I'm still accelerating, nowhere near the redline, I'll feel the power cut out, and then catch again.
Both of these symptoms are relatively new, and both are things Subaru told me are perfectly normal for the WRX. If it's perfectly normal does that mean my car had issues when it was new and didn't do that? That somehow driving it made the car better?
I also mentioned that my clutch might be slipping since I really have no idea what this power drop off thing is, and they said the clutch is fine, too. Note: I am NOT easy on the clutch, and I put 34,000 miles on it in two years.
Do they ever take the car on the highway and open it up, or is it just a case of hooking it up to their computer, not seeing a code and saying it's fine?
I'm wondering if Subaru might be a bad place to have my Subaru checked out. Should I take it to a Mitsubishi or even a Ford dealership and see if they have better luck with it?
