Hi I have a 2004 wrx sti sock standard, it was recently in a collision and i replaced the timming belt, since then i have detected a ticking niose in the (standing in front of the vehicle) right rear cylinder . I used a long scrwe drive to isolate it and found the niose the top of the head clost to the inlet valves .
My question is do i need to remove the head to fix the noise as it is progressivly getting louder, or can i just replace a shim bucket or shim. I have been told it has shimless buckets.
I have takrn it to the dealers and they want to remove the head at a rediculous cost .
Help.
Thanks
