what to do with my oil

I want to start doing my own oil changes and was just wondering what you do with the oil after you drain it? thanks.

Checker or O'Reilly's (whatever is closest to you) will take it and recycle it for you. If there isn't one close to you, most landfill's have a recycling center for hazardous chemicals, which oil is.

take it to Autozone or similar..... they ask you to give your name and all that in my state.... Should be cool

I was under the impression (at least in NY) that any place that works on vehicles is required by law to take used oil. Personally, I take mine to the Valvoline that's on my way to/from work.
