    Cylinder 2 misfire

So for the past 2 months I have been trying to get to the bottom of a cylinder 2 misfire code.

Here is what I have done so far at Cylinder #2
    1. New coil
    2. New plug
    3. New injector
    4. Pulled engine and adjusted valves (they did need it)

While the engine was out I also
    1. New timing belt
    2. New water pump
    3. O2 sensor
    4. Clutch
    5. All new plugs

Car is an 06 WRX TR with 142,000 miles. Oil is changed every 3-5 thousand miles with full synthetic.

I am still getting the misfire code......the blinking cruise light is going to drive me crazy....along with not being able to use cruise (notice how many miles I drive). Sometimes the engine light will even start blinking when at idle, but then it will just stay lit most of the time.

Since I have done all the work above, it runs like a brand new car. But it still does not idle great.

    Thoughts ?

Well for my 08' STI, I have had two encounters with a similar code, the cruise, engine, along with the traction control lights were on or blinking, the first time it happened I went to the dealer about a week after it started but it stopped before I got there, he said I spun a wheel independently, from the rest and the computer had to reset itself, the next time it happened I just disconnected my battery, then it went away. I would say go to a dealer and let them figure it out.

    Thanks for the response.

Whats funny is the dealer is somewhat perplexed by the issue as well.

They did the coil and injector change and then told me that it must be the valves, but there was no way I was paying them to take the engine out. So I pulled it along with everything else thats in the engine bay to get the darn thing out....including disconnecting the battery.

I've reset the computer multiple times via unhooking battery and just through the gizmo that hooks up to the car.

By the way, stage 2 tune is gone and stock turbo is back in. So the car is for all intentional purposes back to stock. And I made this change over a year ago, and no issues. This code just wont go away.

Ok I saw this happen to a friend and when the engine light blinks he had the 2 green connectors under the driver side dash connected together which puts the car into test mode, Once he unplugged them it was fine. Not sure if it helps but try looking at the 2 gren connectors and see if they are connected. I even forgot once to unplug them after using my access port and dont forget to remove the bypass connector also if you used one while changing maps.

Post the codes your getting. There has to be more code than just a cylinder 2 misfire or the cruise light wouldn't flash.
