    New SPT exhaust smells SWEET????

The dealer installed my new SPT exhaust on which I have had for 2 days now. When started, there is a sweet smell coming out of the exhaust....smells like glazed donuts?!

Is this normal for brand new exhausts?? Will it go away soon>??

Our dealership usually has free donuts sitting in the lobby... I wonder if that bastard stole a few while installing the exhaust

A sweet smell is usually from antifreeze. If the smell doesn't burn off you might want to be concerned. Is there any smoke/steam coming from the exhaust/engine bay?

Just saw it's a 2010. Anything that's wrong with your car... take it to the dealership. They won't charge you. It's under warranty. ANYTHING at all!

2 options as I see it....

wait and see if it goes away...

Go steal a few donuts in the waiting room of the dealership while they take a glance at it.

Interesting. I had my SPT exhaust installed at about 200 miles and it just smoked for about a 100 miles after that. Sounds like you did the glazed donut mod.

it's just burniong off the residue in the new piping. All new exhausts smell at first.....but if it never goes away then you have a problem

It has been about 4-5 days and the smell is gone. It must have been the new oils/chemicals on the exhaust like some of you have said. Thanks for the re-assurance.

oils are used during the mandrel bend process... SPT has smooth bends because of the mandrel process...
