    Diagnosis help!!!

When I slowly let out on the clutch in 1st I get a shutter/vibration. It didn't do this until recently after I just replaced my clutch in my 04 wrx. Since I picked the car up from the shop Ive been having trouble with sputtering and vibration letting when I let the clutch out and downshifting. The only way to avoid taking off with out this going on is reving around 2grand and letting out yet it doesn't seem to do this when it's cold in the morning until the car starts warming up. I asked figured something with the clutch installation, but the guy from the shop insists it's not becuase it being a hyrdolic clutch. Could it be bad motor mount, etc., or is it the clutch and the guy is just being ignorant or stubborn? Any sure way to tell what's going on? Please helpp!!!!

Was it JUST the clutch you installed ? And what clutch is in there now ?

What fluid did you refill with ?

Are all the bushings/crossmember pieces tightened correctly ?

I have kind of a simular problem but I took it in to the dealer and they told me that everything is fine with the car and its probally just a bent heatshield or a loose exhaust hanger somewhere id just take it to the dealer they might charge you like 45 to diagnos it... they didn't charge me though cause it was something simple

I had a problem similar to this on my Legacy and it turned out that the pilot bearing worked its way out of the flywheel partially and the main shaft was no longer aligned with the rest of the driveline.....the actual clutch facing broke away from the clutch hub in my occasion..Of course this was the first clutch I ever did many years back...Live and Learn...Also how do you know this may not be somewhat normal, If you got the clutch replaced I'm assuming it was just worn/slipping etc etc..So perhaps you got used to driving the car with a worn clutch and now until the "break in" period is satisfied with the new one it may feel a little "off"...

Well I had a clutch go out in my old civic and when I got it back I didn't I didn't have any problems when I got it back and it was a hydrolic clutch. Although I had previously read that some might need broken in but I wasn't sure being this is my first Subaru. I called the shop that did the work they claim it cant be the clutch and it may be a worn motor mount of CV joint. Although when i called 2 other transmission shops they all said to take it back to the shop it has to be an install issue. I don't think its me just being used to the clutch when it was slipping because it was stiffer and took noticeably more force to push in the clutch than when I got it back.

I'm not to sure how mechanically inclined you are..I would take a look under the hood and make sure there is nothing external that could have been overlooked/forgotten. Also something that would take minimal time and is a good maintenance item...Bleed the clutch hydraulic system...Is this an OEM clutch? Nothing performance/multi disc/pucked or anything.. correct?
