    bad knock senser

I brought my 04 wrx to a subaru dealer bec it was throwing a check engine. I had the problem diagnosed and they said that my o2 sensor and my knock sensor were both bad. I was wondering if it is bad to drive the car with the bad knock sensor? Thanks

Personally I'm going to say drive at your own risk....The knock sensor sends out an AC voltage signal to the ECM when it detects "knock" in your engine and the ECM can retard your ignition timing in order to save your engine....you can drive with a faulty one however I wouldn't recommend it....o2 or A/F sensor in my opinion is a much more vital sensor (mainly the front one) and again I would not recommend driving with a faulty one...
