I own a 2003 WRX. I recently lost my keys snowboarding and my new key won't open the trunk through the key hole. Then my trunk release latch/lever wont open the trunk, I'm thinking I gotta tighten up the latch's wire. Anyone have an issue like this? I am able to open my trunk from crawling through the back.

You see this latch? I circled it. If its up your trunk latch won't catch.
It needs to be in the down position for it to work on the inside.
Like this:
See if that works then open your trunk with the trunk latch under your seat.
If it doesn't work... I'm not sire what to tell you.
yeah, I somehow turned the lever to cancel. I never seen this lever before considering I've only had this car for 3 months. Thanks

Had the same problem with my first Subaru. Like the idiot lights on the steering column, it's just Subaru's way of saying welcome to the family.
