So installed a boost gauge last night, so this is the first time in the 4 months i've had the car that i can monitor the boost..,
But when i'm driving and pushing the car kinda hard i noticed that in 3rd and 4th the boost gets up to 17 psi. Is this normal?
I'm just asking because i thought the stock boost only went to around 13.5 psi or something in that area.
I also just installed a TBE if that changes anything, but i still think these boost numbers are pretty high.
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance

That's the thing... i haven't flashed to stage 2 yet.
I guess that would have been helpful in my original post

It stays at 17 but i haven't reall gone over 5k rpm in those gears. it's constant at 17 until i let off the gas or shift.
also I didn't adjust anything when i installed the dp. Just put it on.

well a downpipe allows for more boost...so this is normal in the sense that you're boosting more. a tune should be your next step.
have you replaced your up pipe yet as well?
No not yet. i'm waiting for it to come in the mail. then i'm gonna install it the day it comes in. So i stand corrected... Up pipe then tune is the order of the list. lol.
that is definitely going to be as soon as possible though

The boost gauge could be off by a couple PSI.

yea that was my first thought...
i'm kinda afraid of bricking my ecu, but i guess that is equally possible with an ap. I'll just take my time and read all the walkthroughs and faqs thoroughly
