    Alright folks. I recharged my refrigerant in an effort to introduce new oil into the compressor (since the oil and refrigerant are mixed). The AC compressor unfortunately still seizes. I found that if I reduce the pressure (supposed to be 40-50 PSI on the low pressure end) to 35 PSI, the compressor no longer seizes, but at the expense of less cooling in the AC unit. It seems possible that something is jamming the refrigerant path at this point.

    Update May 16, 2010:
    I just bought new serpentine belts this afternoon. There is a lot of corrosion on the main crank pulley, and instead of polishing and removing the corrosion, I decided to purchase a Perrin lightweight crank pulley (black to appear stock). I will have to take the car to a shop to get the idler pulley lock bolt drilled and removed (it is extremely corroded and stripped). After that, I will be able to replace the belts and add a few more PSI of refrigerant.

    Update 5/19/2010:
    I have decided to cut the A/C accessory belt and remove the whole idler pulley assy. The lock bolt will not budge (even after heating with a butane torch), so I have opted to purchase a new idler and assy from Subaru. Here is the part:

    Update 6/23/2010:
    So I finally received all the bracket parts from Subaru after being backordered for about a month. I installed the idler pulley, threw on a brand new serpentine belt, set the tension, and the belt still slips on the crank pulley. It is starting to sound like the issue does lie in the compressor.
