Weird Idle after I fill up on gas...

So the last two times I have filled up on gas after I turn my car on it idles really rough...the whole car shakes until I give it a little throttle than it goes away. It's been cold outside.

What is causing this? Anything I should look into?

Where do you typically get gas? Sometimes switching brands can do it. Happened to me a while back b/c Hess and Sunoco were the two closest to my usual destinations. Happened when I went from one to the other. Now I'll run out of gas before I go anywhere other than Sunoco.

Could also just be because you're car's warm and it idles lower than when you turn it on cold.

One common problem/theory. When you fill up slow down once your getting close to full. If you over fill and some/alot spills into the little hole by the gas gap it goes back into the evap/charcoal box causing this problem. For more info search on the NASIOC. It will verify this happens alot.

What month do your local gas stations there switch to winter gas? It's typically not a smooth transition from one to the other, one day the tanks are full of wonderful summer gas, the next day they're full of winter.

Here it's November...ish, but I'm ~10 deg north of PA.

Well I filled up today, it didn't do the rough idle thing. I will do some research...but it appears that i shouldn't worry about it...it has only done it a few times! Thanks!
