My01 WRX 145kms...

unfortunately my rex is giving me a hard time....my gearbox and clutch are on their way out (not worried bout that yet) What I'm worried about is this....


Engine shakes on idle,
Car's response on take off so slow (doesn't take off like a rex),
Car back fires sometimes, anyways... I kept getting an error code which read "P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction"

Could that be why the engine is shaky on idle and takes off like a turtle??? please help... I've booked it in for tomorrow so I just wanted to have an idea before my mechanic sees it...

Another thing that showed up recently is somehow my BOV is splashing oil on gear changes, i know that because i see the smoke out of the scoop and lifted up the bonnet and found oil traces...

More than likely your camshaft position sensor is bad. It could be a loose connection somewhere. It could also be a bad ecu. I would deffinately change that BOV back to stock. Especially since the seals in it are probably bad since it is allowing the oil to blow by.
