    02 wrx oil pump question

    i have an 02 wrx w 293,000 miles all stock auto car . just burnt a valve ive gathered parts and stuff to fix the valves and let her rip for another 293,000. im replacing all the timing stuff as well as waterpump regasketing and seals complete valve job all hoses and filters and was wondering what the thoughts were on the oil pump should i replce or no

    My vote is "yes." I've seen them replaced even as a matter of routine at less than half the age of your pump. Since you're doing the timing belt and have the motor apart anyway the additional trouble would be negligible, and the additional expense -- I hesitate to call any expense "negligible" -- would be small.

    +1 ^ If the car has been good to you for that long that oil pump is prob getting tired..it would be a real shame for all those new goodies in the engine to become paperweights...
