need help with lights

first off im not too good with electric stuff, my driver side head light went out, i tried replacing the bulb and no go, could there be a short somewhere if so i have no idea whAT to do, all my other lights working fine,

There could be....So you replaced the bulb with a known good one? What happens if your outside the car with the headlights on and the new bulb in and wiggle the wires going to the bulb? anything? If that fails check for power and ground at the socket...

Unless you have a multimeter you not going to get very far. Also its very important never to touch the glass part of a halogen bulb. The natural oils from you fingers will create a hot spot on the glass when they burn and cause the bulb to fail pretty quick (sometimes in a couple of minutes/seconds)

Yes you should be able to buy one at walmart... they should be back in the automotive electrical section...pretty inexpensive there...

Well If your 100% sure the bulb is good...check for B+ and Ground at the socket...

while we are on the subject of headlights...my driver's side low beam light went out yesterday...i gave the housing a knock from the outside and it came back on and has remained on for the last 24 hours. I haven't had much time to investigate....anything other than what has been mentioned above that I should look for? I assumed it was the bulb on it's way out but after reading above maybe I'll check the wiring. Is the bulb easy to replace?

Take the battery out ( if I remember correctly)and unscrew the housing.... 15 minutes.
