    No.

Find some place to read the code and post the code number for more info.

I work for and on Subarus, and no light does not come on for maintenance intervals. Post the code and I can possibly give you advice/ tell you why it is on.

Go to checkers/autozone/o'reilly's/etc... all of them let you use their code reader. They won't read/diagnose it for you anymore though.

when i get out of work at 8 am and started the car, i first noticed it then, so say 8:05 this morning. it wasnt on last night on my way to work. i drove it home and everything seemed fine. i then drove it to my aunts house tonight about 7-8 miles and home and the car seemed sluggish upwards of 2500 rpm's. i could just be paranoid just bc i know somethins up.

If you got gas last night then I would go out and shut off all electronics in your car.

    Open fuel door, tighten cap

Remove positive battery cable for a few seconds

    Re-install battery cable

start car let idle for 15 minutes. Do not let any electronics run, do not hit the gas.

If the light comes back on, the fuel cap is not your problem.

I think the problem is that OP does not have a way to check the CEL code... otherwise I think he/she would have posted it here...
