    mis shift

    hey there i have a 05 sti and i was on the high way last night doin bout 100 mph and i think i may have mis shift to 3rd and my chek engine light came on...thursday i had just replaced the oil control valve n the light was not comin off then the guy cleaned the o2 sensor and it came off..and now i mis shifted it came back on...can anyone help me? the car is not makin any noise and there is no driving difference

    Check your engine light code... See what code your ECU is giving you..

    i dont have the tool to check the ecu code but i am going to take it to subaru tomorow since they tild me if the light came on jus bring it bak...but i want to kno if that cud of caused any major damages i changed from 6 to 3rd

    so long as you didn't jump your rev limiter im sure your fine... You said yourself yo haven't noticed anything and it drives fine...

    If you cant hit the gear, I suggest not taking a 3500 lb car 100 MPH on a public road...

    They stopped doing that in my area last year... They dont offer free readings but they do offer ob2 readers for sale... I assumed it would have been a wide spread thing...

    Maybe its discretion of the local management or perhaps the scanners all broke down and no one wants to pay to fix em or replace em...

    ok so i took it to subaru n they told me i have a slight mis fire in cylinder one..they say it happens wen the car is idling n the machine is showin a slight misfire...they now tellin me i gotta pay them to do a full diagnostic...my friend told me to change the plugs..shud i change the plugs r take it bak to subaru n let them do the full chek?

    Buy a code reader, they are cheaper than the diag fee.
