    Helpppp

Today i got into my wrx to back out of my drive way and once i turned the wheel to a certain point it became hard to turn and a belt squeeled, not to loud but enough to catch my attention. Im pretty sure its power steering just want other opinions. And if it was my steering rack what other symptoms would my car have?

Check fluid levels and quality. Might need a fluid change. Get that done quick because it can ruin the pump rather fast.

Nothing that I can think of, though it could be something binding, but I'm thinking it's more pump/fluid related than steering rack, and it's relatively cheap and easy to check and replace steering fluid so that's where I would start.

Personally, along with checking your fluid level and condition I would be checking the tension and condition of your P/S/ALT belt...How many miles are on the vehicle? Have you had the P/S system open recently or any other work performed on the vehicle?

My bet is on the fluid needing to be flushed or the hoses taking a dump (which you can tell by the hose).

    I FIGURED IT OUT

Well guys thank you for all the help but i walked outside, popped the hood and there sitting on the top of my motor was a shredded piece of my belt. And because im such a great mechanic i figured out that THAT is the problem! LOL How does somthing like this happen? i have 65k miles on the car, maybe it was time to get a new belt? or is there somthing else that could cause it,pulley maybe?

Look at the rest of the belt to see if it was time to be done. 45-50K in extreme conditions is when the belts need to be done. Glad you found out what it was.
