Fuel door wont shut.....help?

Hey guys....my fuel door wont shut. The small white tab that keeps it in place wont protrude...it is stuck in the down position. In my car, the fuel tank tab....the one you pull to open the door....is soft. Like...when you lift or push it down it doesnt stay in the downward position...it Just kinda flobbs around like the cable is stuck or dirty or something...Anything I can do?

Thanks

-Dave

Like the above poster said, try some silicon lube and let it sit for a while. Also try messing the the fuel door latch that opens it.

I lubed er up real good a few days ago....and I have been fiddling with the latch ever since it broke (Tried holding it down, holding it up, pushing it both ways etc....) no dice....Should I play with some wires now? Take the engine out and see whats up?
