    no rev limiter?

Hello all, I have a 06 wrx wagon. It seems like it dosent have a rev limiter. I have been able to rev it past the 6200 or 6500 redline a few times and have never felt anything kick in. I understand that on a downshift it will rev up past redline but what about in normal driving? Could my ECU be chipped or something?

    Thanks
    Keith

^ What he said. Your redline is 6500, and they set the limiter a couple hundred RPM past that on just about every car.

You know, it's not necessarily a bad thing to hit the rev limiter, but it's not a good thing either. If you're that desperate to hear it, do it in neutral after the car is warmed up.
