2009 wrx impreza first oil change

hey guys, im about to hit 1k miles on my subie. Is it a good idea to do an oil change at 1k and then follow the dealers recommendations?

Seriously early if you ask me unless of course its been around/over 3 months...Of course you can never change your oil enough if you ask me....

I changed mine at 1500, 3000, and then every 3,000 after that. May be far too often, but my engine loves me 83k and 4 years later.

Whoa, you've had your hawkeye for 4 years? I still think of those as new cars.

You musta been at the dealer signing papers as the first ones rolled off the truck, huh?

January of 2006, so not quite 4 years, but coming up on it anyways.
