    Timing belt parts list

so i want to do my timing belt soon but i want to do EVERYTHING there is to do while in there, period. i don't want to just do the belt, tensioner, water pump and call it a day and then 10 or 20 or 30,000 miles later have to take it all apart again because of a bad idler pulley or bad cam seal.

so here is what i know is under there and can be replaced.

    timing belt
    water pump
    thermostat
    timing belt tensioner
    cam seals (x4)
    crank seal
    timing belt idler pulley's (x4?)

    anything else?

anyone with any input on this will be greatly appreciated.

more often on the older Subarus, but it cant hurt to check while your there..is the backing plate screws on the oil pump.. Sometimes they have a tendency to back out and cause low oil pressure...so I would pull off the oil pump, loctite the backing plate screws, reseal the pump, and replace the o-ring....As you said "your in there"...

Of course you could look at things this way...you could replace all the idlers and everything and even the new idler could fail 30 miles down the road, but if you left the old one on there it could have lasted the life of the car...Just another way of thinking i guess.....lol
