    Speedometer jumps around

I was riding in my friends wrx the other day and he mentioned how his speedometer jumps all over the place...it would go from like 30 to 60 and back and forth when we were going at a steady speed. What could be causing this?!

Not sure about Subarus, but in most vehicles if the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) goes bad, you'll get a CEL.

Another possibility is wiring on the back of the speedo going bad.

Make sure the terminals have not backed out of the VSS connector, Sounds to me like you may have a loose wire, or connector...
