Hopefully no valves are bent...take a look here... the procedure is pretty much the same for all current/new gen. DOHC Subies.. http://endwrench.com/images/pdfs/2.5Timing.pdf

too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane. this is the stage i'm at now. this took me a year and a half. i still need a right rear spindle and of course the timing set.

an update here and a related question.......

first off i have fixed everything except putting the fans back on and replacing the timing belt covers. will NOT start since it turned cold. it idled super-duper rough this summer but i was putting an axle and hub on the back. i wasn't worried about it running if it wouldn't roll. anyway i got a used one that had a busted anti-lock brake sys. so i mated the two it took me over a month to find it. now it's cold and won't start. it wants to start SoOoOoo bad. but won't.

what think ye?....i have a timing belt and i was wondering how much torque it would take to get that nut off the harmonic balancer looking thing. p.o.s. dealership won't come off the "special" wrench only they have.

The crank bolt is a 22mm pop a huge breaker bar and socket on the bolt......This might seem like an unorthadox method however I use it only when I have to...because not properly secured it can be dangerous....you position the breaker bar on top of the side frame rail and "bump" the engine just enough to break the bolt loose...( make sure you have the breaker bar oriented properly....i take no responsibility if anything breaks or you hurt yourself...lol)...Like said Ive used this method before and it does work, however only when I have to now that I work for Subaru....No start when cold im thinking a shot from the hip perhaps a CTS...This is by going that the car has a fully charged battery, healthy starting system and the timing belt is properly installed...

ok guys thanx for everything! i got everything going. it was the timing belt. one side jumped entirely out of time but each set of cams stayed in-sync w/ themselves so (thank God) no damage to the valves. Now...I'm throwing codes. if any one has anything that can help me pass Tennessee emissions please let me know. they won't o.k. me with a check engine light.
